Closing the Gap: Digitising African Research for Global Accessibility

2 min read

The state of academic research in Nigeria is alarming, as it continues to struggle with a serious lack of publicity. The main reason behind this is the limited digitalization efforts in many studies. The majority of publishers still rely on print publications, which have a minimal reach in today’s digital age. It’s crucial to find ways to spread and promote research from Africa, especially from Nigeria, to the rest of the world. However, this poses a significant challenge due to the lack of interest, funding, and commitment.

To address this issue, Research Africa is stepping up and offering an opportunity for academic journals of African origin, starting from Nigeria, to digitise their work. By doing so, these journals will have a better chance of reaching a broader audience and gaining the recognition they deserve. Digitisation will also make it easier for researchers and scholars from other parts of the world to access and utilise the valuable insights and knowledge from African research.

If you’re an academic journal editor or publisher based in Nigeria, we encourage you to reach out to us at digitals@researchafricapublications.com to discuss the digitisation process for your journal.

By joining forces, we can work towards promoting and showcasing the high-quality research and studies coming out of Nigeria to the rest of the world.

Let’s work together to bridge the gap between African research and the global community.
